Ring sizes around the world are measured in different ways. The big thing to look out for is that ring size measuring instruments differ - so one jeweller can measure you as a "P" and another as a "P1/2". This is not serious with gold and silver - but if it is a titanium ring you will have a problem as titanium rings cannot be sized.
The other factor is how wide you ring will be - if it is narrow then the sizing instruments are fine - but if it is a wide ring then you will need to add up to a size, sometimes more.
These are the most common ring sizes from around the world. It is best to let the goldsmith or jeweller who is going to make your ring do the sizing. This way if it is wrong then it is their problem. Ordering online presents a challenge. If you do get sized by another jeweller - I suggest you ask him to measure the inside diameter of the the ring size - usually in millimetres, and to two decimal places - ie: 22,45mm.
